Accountants Group in Germany

The Accountants Group in Germany (AGiG) was set up in 1980 with a view to providing support and organising events for members of the six CCAB accounting bodies who work in Germany. There are generally some 600 to 700 members of these organisations working in Germany at any one time.

The Committee of the AGiG, which consists of 10-12 members working both in the profession and in industry, organises two full-day seminars each year, with a view to offering members both interesting and stimulating topics, and a forum in which to interact and network with each other. The seminars regularly feature current accounting issues which members may find useful in keeping up to date, but also cover other hot topics - most recently on themes such as IT, Sustainability and Outsourcing. With contacts both inside and outside the profession, the Committee regularly manages to source top-quality speakers for the bi-annual events.

Most recently, the AGiG has gone online to better service its members and provide a more open forum for interaction, with a website and a presence on the professional networking site Xing.
